Aliki Moustaka

Aliki Moustaka was born in 1952 and studied Classical Archaeology, Prehistoric Archaeology, and Egyptology at Ruprecht-Karl-Universität Heidelberg, where she received her PhD in 1978 (dissertation on “Kulte und Mythen auf thessalische Münzen”). She served as a research collaborator at the German Archaeological Institute’s Olympia excavations (1978–1983) and joined the Department of History and Archaeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1986, eventually becoming Professor in 2005. A member of the Archaeological Society at Athens and the German Archaeological Institute, she focuses on archaic and classical sculpture, sanctuary topography, classical architecture and urbanism, numismatics, interpretive methods, and metalwork.
