Firstly, I must apologise for the quality of the photographs, as this is about as good as I can do with my camera, but hopefully, you can just about make it out.
The coin is approximately 17mm in diameter at its widest point and weighs 1.81grms
That is all I know about it, sorry.
Just trying to find out Country, face value and date/dates of minting. Totally uninterested in its selling value as ¼ of the coin is missing, so most likely worthless
Ancient Rome, 2nd century, Nerva–Antonine dynasty, silver dinarius. The reverse seems to be Aequitas standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae. If you can read part of the obverse it might still be possible to identify the exact emperor. My guess is Commodus or Marcus Aurelius. Here's an example of Commodus RIC 13:

Sadly, the right hand side of the coin is missing, and even using my 8x eye piece, I cannot make out much of the lettering on the left.
Just by his hair I can make out NVS, but that is all. When you state 2nd century, is there a more accurate date?
Many thanks for you help, and I will email my friend later today with your expert findings
"NVS" is probably from "ANTONINVS" but Antoninus Pius, Marcus Aurelius and Commodus all had "ANTONINVS" in their name, Trajan and Hadrian also had "NVS" but I'd rule them out judging by portrait alone. I'd also rule out Antoninus Pius so Marcus Aurelius and Commodus are what's left. That would put it somewhere between 161 AD to 192 AD. Even if the coin was complete you'd still most likely be looking at a time span not an exact date simply since these were not struck yearly like modern coins but in time spans.

My friend will be well impressed with the information, and even more impressed that the solution to the original question is answered so quickly.
I did tell him that, if he has a coin of any date, someone on this website will have an answer.
Many, many thanks again for your help, which is much appreciated.
