This coin matches very closely 5a following Wren p70. Especially the Obv lettering - EDVR'ANGL'DNShYB - the "V" in Edward being fairly uncommon. However, the A's are barred and there is only very slight evidence of a pellet on breast.
Hello Kevin.
I have been looking at your Edward I Penny and its a Tricky one your Assumption's that its a Group 5 may be Correct but there are some Coins in group 4 that have some of the same make up Regarding the V it looks like a part of the W has been Damaged as the rest of the Inscription has moved round I have one Edward Penny that has the A with a bar in it this is a Type 3 Spink 1388.
I think on reflection it is a coin in Group 5 but the Die has been Modified maybe due to Damage .Avery interesting Coin and in good condition regarding its Age.
Yes I would like to Know the Outcome as it also intrigues me as the outside script is out of Sync after the V with all the Coins I have and the R looks Different also I have Manly Class 10 Coins and Above of Edward I though I do have some Class 3 and when researching them found it took quite a while to be completely satisfied which class they where.
