Maldives 2 Rufiyaa 1995/2007

this entry should be devided up. The 1995 indeed is not magnetic, the 2007 one is magnetic, at least my pieces. Also Schön catalog says that the 2007 issue has a steel core.

​That is a good question. Unfortunately I don't have a good answer. NGC says yes (I assume Krause does too) but they don't show the magnetic KM# 88a type. I have to believe that with hundreds of members claiming to have it it does exist.

The numista coin page of the magnetic coin was created much later than the page of the non magnetic coin, this can be seen in the numista number. So everyone who added the coin to the collection before the creation of the second page automatically added it as the non magnetic version. I'm not really convinced that there are a magnetic and a non magnetic version of the 2007 coin.

What you say is entirely possible. As I've said, I really don't know. Here's one for sale that claims to be a non-magnetic 2007:

I contacted one numista member who wanted to exchange the two pieces of the non magnetic 2007 coin and after checking both are magnetic. It doesn't proove anything but makes me more suspicious.
