Hello,

Your coin will be made of either a copper-nickel mix or aluminum. In order to tell which metal you have you need to get a known copper-nickel coin of similar size to the metal in your coin. I don't know the size of your coin but perhaps a 5 or 10 pence coin and compare the weights in your hand. Even though this will not be exact, the aluminum coin should be significantly lighter. The Aluminum version is thicker flan than a normal 1/10th nickel issue, almost twice the thickness.
