Ottoman Mahmud II KM#643 replica?

Got this coin in a lot. The closest match is this Cedid Mahmudiye Rubiyesi - Mahmud II Kostantiniyye mint KM#643 , but my coin although golden in color, I suspect it is not actually gold (any good test for gold, anyone? ).

I've seen the entries on the forum many times and I can "hear" many of you already stating... "It is just a 'belly dancer' decoration!", and I have found a few forum entries on imitations of this coin but much larger than the original (to use as a decoration).
But, what strikes me is that:
- There's no hole to sew it to clothing
- The size is much smaller than the typical belly dancer tokens I've seen, actually matching very closely the coin above.

So the questions are:
- Could this be a contemporary counterfeit?
- Is it a different coin altogether?
- Any other ideas?
- Could this be the real deal? (I really, really doubt it)
- Provided it is a "token" should I add it to the Exonumia section?

Year: AH1223 - Regnal year: 28

All I'm sure of is that this is not a genuine coin. Just look at the real thing, it's obvious.

Notice that the quarter coin doesn't have flowers inside the wreath, and the wreath has 14 buds, whereas a whole and a half have flowers inside and 12 buds in the wreath. That being said, the picture on Numista doesn't match the catalog. It's possible that the pattern is different for this regnal year, though it's also possible that the page creator uploaded pictures for a different type.

Thanks bdino74 for your insight and catalog scans. I fully agree with you that my "token" does not look like the real deal (and I had no hopes as I mentioned before).
So someone with more expertise in this issuer and time period may need to update those pages
