Hi, I've just inherited my late fathers coin collection and there are a few unknown items. Here is one, I think it's copper, the 'letters' are same on each side 'S' above the '13', 'D' above the '6', I assume it's a token of some kind with face value of 13s 6d. Any ideas?
cheers
Rick
Maybe a coin weight?
It exists as a denomination 'half a moidore' ...
which I remember from a question on here a few months ago.
That picture above also has S above 13 and D above 6 like yours.
Yes, here (from March) is the weight for a full moidore denomination ... https://en.numista.com/forum/topic108114.html
So 13 shillings + 13 shillings = 26 shillings, and 6 pence + 6 pence = 1 shilling,
then 26 + 1 = 27 shillings, or 2 7 on that weight.
There are links down that page that give more details.
