Hello,colleagues & friends!

Please, tell me what grade & collectable value would/can you put on the following silver coin of Nassau(old German States),2 thalers 1854.

I know, the coin is in pretty low condition but however, how much may it be evalueted for collections,as it is quite scarce?!

The coin is 100% genuine,silver,37g.,41 mm.

Thanks for all your experienced answers!

Hi! Dear Mariusz, thanks for your reply but what you gave me are collectable values for a coin in much better grades than mine(VF,XF,UNC)…

Sorry but I don't need those values,I was able from my own to find such catalogue/auction prices!

What I asked you, fellow numismats,is ''WHAT GRADE & COLLECTABLE VALUE WOULD YOU PUT ON MY COIN,AS IT IS(used, low condition)?''.

That's what I asked,if someone can/wish help me with this?!…

The price will be determined by the auction. There will always be someone to buy big silver. When I look at auctions in my country, you could get max 50 euro.

Dear Mariusz, now your answer is OK & follows my request!

Thank you!

P.S.: What country are you from?

If you click on a poster's name, you can see where they are from.

Here is the lowest grade I could find in an auction listing:  https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=4134762

This coin sold for $235 in 2015.

Of course the market has moved up since then, and a non-slabbed coin will usually command a lower price.

I think Mariusz has provided a reasonable estimate.  Maybe as much as $100.  You could watch eBay to see if one in similar condition comes up, but I think this is the only way to get a better estimate.

Hello,tdziemia!

Many thanks for your complete & professional reply! You gave me important and objective information… About this coin and its price, although it is not known as a very rare type but scarce,I wish to tell you that in 13 years I never saw it offered on eBay(where I searched, trying to get a better piece for my collection,of course at a reasonable price…). Now,I can tell you that about 13 years ago I got it for some 50usd. That means I paid not for a ‘’deal'' but for a ''correct'' price, let's say!

Friendly regards and best wishes!
