Dear all,

I need some help with valuing this coin. Unfortunately, I cannot provide photos but I can describe it in the best detail that I can without providing photographic evidence.

It's a commemorative silver coin for the wedding of Charles and Diana in 1981. The case says ‘Royal Wedding Commemorative Crown’ dated July 29th 1981. It has a picture of the Prince and Princess on the reverse facing left. I have the case that it originally was put in and it is sealed in there but, it has been touched before. The coin is in good to very good condition but the case has scratched but bear in mind, I only got this coin for one pound. I would like to know your opinions on it. The casing was originally provided by Natwest when it was given out after it was minted.

Many thanks,

the money man😀.

There are many shown on the internet made of cupronickel and silver in a variety of diplay cases or boxes and some offered without a container at all . It is difficult to determine exactly what you have based on your description. It should be easy for you to find it on the internet to compare yours to what is available on the market.

Trying really hard to not promote retail sales sites. It's where the sharks reside.

If you can get £1 for it you're doing well. Old cupro-nickel crowns don't hold much value unfortunately.
