Is this a coin or a medal? Looking for help

Hi, guys,

I have this coin/ medal thing and i do not know what is it and it's value (if it has any). It looks like it might be silver (it is not golden!!!), but i am not 100% sure.

On one side it writes SANCTVS MARCVS VENE. with 70 between stars on the bottom and on the other side it writes DUC (might be a G?!)ATUS VENETVS with 124 between stars.

I tried looking for it on google but i did not manage to find anything that would match it 100%.

As for that little handle, it looks like it has been applied and does not make a body with the coin.

I am looking to identify what it is (coin or medal) and if it has any value.

It is certainly a modern imitation of an 18th century coin of Venice. The original is not in the catalogue, but you'll recognize the reverse (with the value 70⁄20 = ½ scudo) in this search:

Bună! Originalul este o monedă din argint din Veneția,nedatată (în jurul anului 1750),cu valoarea (scrisă pe ea) de 70 soldi = ½ scudo. Greutate obligatorie: 15.90g. Dacă aceasta nu corespunde,e clar că e o replică/fals montat,în plus,ca o medalie.

Valoarea,cum ai bănuit,cvazi nulă. Rămâne să verifici dacă e din argint masiv,pentru valoarea metalului.
