Charles II

Hi,

This looks like a Charles the Second Coin, though I wonder if it is a token of some form and I can't see a date. It is 0.4 grams and 14mm Diameter. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Stewart

It's a jetton that was probably struck for sale as a memento of Charles II's coronation. Here is a similar one: NumisBids: Baldwin's of St. James's Auction 21, Lot 529 : British Medals, Charles II, Coronation 1661,...

I've attached a screenshot of its entry in Medallic Illustrations vol.1 (MI i 477/85)

The catalogue claims it was only struck in silver, but I have a copper example in my own collection.
