I found this thread in WoC: http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,54410.0/topicseen.html

I lost a lot of time searching to find the reason for having 2 different coins of the same denomination in the same year and didn't find any!

Maybe somebody in numista knows why?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I waited in the hope that a Lebanese collector would know…

My only hypothesis is that coins in the Middle East ─including Lebanon─ often rely on frozen dates. So, I'm wondering whether one of these two coins bears a date that is rather meaningless (unless it corresponds to a 1955 piece of legislation regulating coinage).

KM# 22 seems very avant-garde for a coin going back to 1955. Maybe it was actually struck later??
