Hi,

I have spotted the following. We now have on Numista only the following 4 catalogs all referenced as Kop:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/catalogue.php?id=139

- Edmund Kopicki; 1995. Ilustrowany skorowidz pieniedzy polskich i z Polska związanych / Część 1.1. Teksty Poz. 1-7058. Polskie Towarzystwo Numizmatyczne - Zarząd Główny, Warsaw, Poland.

- Edmund Kopicki; 1995. Ilustrowany skorowidz pieniedzy polskich i z Polska związanych / Część 1.1. Tablice Poz. 1-7058. Polskie Towarzystwo Numizmatyczne - Zarząd Główny, Warsaw, Poland.

- Edmund Kopicki; 1995. Ilustrowany skorowidz pieniedzy polskich i z Polska związanych / Część 2.1. Teksty Poz. 7059-12338. Polskie Towarzystwo Numizmatyczne - Zarząd Główny, Warsaw, Poland.

- Edmund Kopicki; 1995. Ilustrowany skorowidz pieniedzy polskich i z Polska związanych / Część 2.2. Tablice Poz. 7059-12338. Polskie Towarzystwo Numizmatyczne - Zarząd Główny, Warsaw, Poland.

This 4-volume catalog covers all Polish-Lithuanian coinage.

BUT we also have the following catalog by the same author which has a narrower focus and covers only the Polish-Lithuanian coinage during the reign of Zygmunt III Waza.

This catalog is called:  Edmund Kopicki "Monety Zygmunta III Wazy", 2007, 408 pages

And it is not yet added to Numista as a reference source althouth some coins are referenced by the catalog on Numista, e.g. here N#136368

The references are:

small Kopicki 380
small Kopicki 381

small Kopicki 387

So I suggest adding it as well BUT we need to introduce another code for this catalog to differentiate it from the large 4-volume catalog mentioned above (e.g. big Kopicki vs small Kopicki)

Because the Polish-Lithuanian coins can be referenced by these two catalogs at the same time and we need to clearly differentiate it so that User does not mix everything up and does not assume that e.g. Kopicki 380, Kopicki 381 abd Kopicki 387 from the above are from the 4-volume catalog.

Because in the 4-volume catalog by Edmund Kopicki the same coins will be referenced by other Kopicki numbers:

big Kopicki 863

big Kopicki 864

big Kopicki 865

So we must tackle this question ASAP and add Edmund Kopicki "Monety Zygmunta III Wazy" as a reference catalog making sure that we do name the reference source tag for the catalog differently from the existing tag “Kop”.

Thank you!

Alex

Would KopZW be good reference?

Catalogue administrator

Hi, I think - yes, or simply big Kop and small Kop )

I am just thinking what will happen when just another Kopicki katalog appears after this one. Kopicky big, Kopicky small, Kopicky mini, maxi, smallest, not so big etc..

Catalogue administrator

Okay, you are absolutely right )) Your variant - KopZW - is the best, let us use it then! Thank you!!!

Ok, this is now added.
