Need help identifying this Indian coin #3 [решено]

4 сообщений • просмотрено 77 раз

This coin is silver, irregular round (21.5-23.0 mm) and weighs 11.39 g.

My best guess is that it is a KM#436.40 India Mughal Muhammad Shah (Lahore mint).

However, when I try to date this coin it has what appears to be RY4 and a date which is partially cut off: 11xx.  BUT this coin does not come in a RY4 according to the catalog. It jumps from RY2 to RY13.

So have I mis-typed this coin?  If so, what is it and what is the date?

It is Mughal Muhammad Shah - Lahore mint coin and you are right about the date as well AH11xx/RY#4

When it comes to Indian coins you will find many date combinations missing in generic catalog like Krause. You will have to refer to state or ruler specific catalogs for more details on varieties and date combinations.
