Welcome to Numista. Please try to provide better photos of each side individually and provide as much information as you can such as weight and diameter so that we may be better able to identify it.
Absolutely. Will do. BR Roger
May be Hungary - it is not this coin but is similar
with lettering on three lines, and a throne on the other side.
Yeah. True. That one is really simular. The middle line says something like ANBO (E) or AHBO (E). I can not read it fully
I thought may be AMBE with X on last line; then maybe not a B but R instead -
so the three lines are :
? ? ? ?
AM RE
X
making it ????AM REX possibly. Still looking …
Of course. You are propably right about AM RE X. Unfortunately I can not see any of the letters on the first line….
Well done. Not sure why my searches on here did not find it.
I had an idea that second line began T then E then a letter with a vertical left side.
So the line below it is actually a N letter instead of a M after all.
Also guessed it was around the same time, as earlier and later dates had different designs.
Well, you got us 90% of the way.
I was first thinking maybe this was a legend variant +BEL / A H' RE / X (Bela, King of Hungary), but couldn't find that anywhere, and then wondered if the type might have persisted to the next reign. When I saw that was a Stephen (STEPHANUS) I then guessed it could be the last part of his name abbreviated (… AN' RE) on the middle line.
Thank U so much the both of you. Great job. I am so greatfull. Have a really nice evening. BR Roger
