Your coin is most probably a token, imitation or a replica .
There is a curios imitation of a gold one pound coin of Queen Elizabeth II that was found many yares ago. It is dated with the yare 1957 and it has a image of the Queen on it's both sides. It is very likely made as joke. It woul be helpfu if you post a image of the coin .
It looks like it has been in circulation for quite a few years.
Why would anybody go through all that trouble as to create a double headed coin?
Because I haven't found any information online, I invite all possible info or even speculation.
The coin has traces of use, I'm not sure but if it is a case of a minting error I'm wonderin how it was not detected by the Royal Mint.
The most certain method to establish wether the coin is genuine or not is to measure the diameter and the weight of the coin and to compare it with the information pointed at the catalog. If the weight is different than the one pointed there than it is most likely to be a forgery.

Thank you for that. I will acquire measurements and post here.
can we see the edge please.
we have seen many examples of double sided novelty coins made by grinding and soldering two halves together.
It is possible that the coin may allow for extra weight from 5.68 to 5.75 an increase of 0.11g because the raised surface aria may be greater.

Really a lot of trouble to go through just for a novel coin.
Yes. It’s obvious with those pictures.

Second picture - the original coin.
First picture - only the rim is original. 98% of the reverse has been ground away,
then in the newly-hollowed part is added another obverse - cut from another coin
and made into a thin section.

would take a skille machinist a few mins on a lathe to do this magic coin. from what i understand modern dies have a top and bottom die with different locking pins making it imposible to put the wrong die in the wrong side making two headed coins just not possible. i also have a magic coin made out of a canadian 1 cent. they are cool but not genuine.

Got these a few years ago…

According to my Grandfather, these were used to con people - i.e. betting on the flip of a coin. There's no ‘magic’ in that.
