Hi everyone,

I have an 1898 1 Ruble  note.

Comparing signatures from the banknote museum I cannot work out the second signature. First is Shipov but second? Thanks

P-1 (banknote.ws)

Check P-15.  Galtsov.

N#202400

Many thanks.

user @rsirian1 is right, but the cashier he specified is not listed on the page he specified. I have the same problem as the author of the first message.

I own banknote signed by cashier Galtsov, serrie НБ-275 (1917, issued by the Provisional Government), and can't add it to my collection, as this cashier not listed here.

Hello and welcome to Numista!

The page you're looking at N#202400 seems to have been modified after this post was answered by me.  The Galtsov signature was removed for some reason.  Here is a screenshot from Banknote Museum with the Galtsov signature:

These are old screenshots (April 2023) of the banknote page showing the Galtsov signature was there at that time:

This is the signatures on the current page:

I do not know why it was removed. The referee may know.  @Grinya

@rsirian1 , no, I don't know.

Frankly saying I didn't know that I'm a referee for banknotes now... Some mess because of updating catalogue structure I think. I know close to nothing about notes of Russian Empire

UPD: it seems that there is no referee for banknotes, it is written that I'm for coins only. Possibly someone from this thread wants to become a referee?:)

My sincere apologies.  I got duped by the new catalog structure. I'm used to clicking the issuer and then looking for the referee at the bottom of the list. I didn't notice the words, “referee for coins” before your name. As I know less than you about banknotes, I'll pass.

Perhaps @Jarcek or @Compendium or @Oklahoman can sort this out.

If it may help I can upload scan of banknote with Galtsov signature I own.

Don't think that will help. I already posted a picture of one. There's no referee for this so need to get one on the admins or master banknote referee to take an interest in correcting this mistake.

Good day,

I think I may have the answer to what happened.

I was the one who made the edits to the last issues of the Russian Empire, and, in doing so, I see that I made the mistake of putting in Gavrilov instead of Galtsov on a few lines. I initially made a spreadsheet of my own, and must’ve put the Gavrilov (GIG) instead of Galtsov (SIG) in. I’ll put in a request to correct these mistakes today.

The block numbers for Galtsov:

What I had in my spreadsheet:

Sorry about all this!
