Christopher de Vier "In Glory" Five Schilling

I found this coin medal thing out walking here in the UK maybe about 10 years ago. Just out in the woods on the outskirts of Durham. I filed it away & forgot about it until recently.

I have absolutely no clue about it. It looks & feels to be a fairly modern thing. Edge is pure smooth, and the wreath/portrait have no detail rather than “lost” detail. It's 45mm across, 3mm thick, though my scales have broken so can't weigh (sorry!). Its silver in colour, but I don't think it's got any actual silver content; too light. Its a bit too heavy for a cheap tin-type metal. Honestly feels like steel in both touch & weight.

I can't find anything about it anywhere. Seen one or two up for sale, but there's never any detail about it. It doesn't seem to be a reproduction of a period piece nor can I find any reason for a whole new “in memorium” medal to be issued either. Just wondering if anyone might be able to shed any light on what it actually is, why it was made, all that kind of thing.

Even an educated guess would be welcome.

Thanks.
