Today a 1950 A.G. Sigg 20 rappen coin arrived in the mail with medal allignment (normal according to the Numista listing), as well as a 1979 A.G. Sigg 10 rappen coin with coin allignment (listed on Numista as having medal allignment). For 20 rappen specifically ‘medal allignment’ is mentioned in French in the year line.
Could you check your A.G. Sigg coins (if you have any) and mention wether they have coin or medal allignment?
According to the present Numista pages, the 5, 10 and 20 rappen coins all have medal allignment, while the 1 and 2 franc(s) coins are listed having coin allignment.
A list with all responses, which I will keep updated in this message (bold: not mentioned on the Numista A.G. Sigg pages yet):

Besides coins I love geometry. The avatar consists of each of the 35 hexominoes used precisely once. With the 5 large yellow shapes placed like this, the solution for tiling the remaining 30 hexominoes is unique.
So, we both have a 10 rappen from 1979, with 2 different alignments !
Thank you so much for this information, looks like some Numista A.G. Sigg pages need an update!

To Peter: thank you for listing your A.G. Sigg issues!
A 1950 2 franken issue arrived in the mail yesterday, I'll add it to the list as well as the ones a friend of mine has: 5 rappen 1950 medal 10 rappen 1950 medal 20 rappen 1970 medal 1 franc 1979 coin 2 franc 1979 coin
I was going to add a picture from my AG Sigg 10 rappen with coin allignment to the corresponding page, but in the comments it sais ‘Information is provided by the company itself.’… Does anyone know what that is all about? Does it just mean A.G.Sigg has provided the size and weight details or do they sort of ‘own’ these pages by sponsoring?

Hi Offa, are you sure it's a small aluminium A.G. Sigg 5 francs coin? That would be very interesting, as it is not listed on Numista. In case it is an A.G. Sigg coin, it also might be 5 rappen and not francs. Anyway, when it is A.G. Sigg, what year is it and can you send pictures?

No it’s standard size and cupro nickel
Then I suppose it's a regular Swiss coin this post is not about… But thank you for responding.

I can confirm these in my collection and swaplist (between brackets the amount I have of each) , I'm also working on getting a full set … so if anyone can help :-)

Hereby just confirming the trend of rappen coins being medal and the francs being coin-alligned.
But I just got hold of what I assume is an original playset in a plastic box with all perfectly new coins (made bold above), with 10 of each rappen (1970) and 3 of each 1 franc 1947 and 2 fr 1950, but these also in medal alignment. This set, based on the rappen dates, is at least from the 70's so it looks like the francs coins might originally all have been made in coin alignment, but then in the 70's switching to medal alignment (even when they were reusing older dates). So the dates seem not to correspond to the minting periods either, considering this mixed set.

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!
I've just been through all my 1 rappen to 5 franken coins (768 coins) and the result I've entered in an Excel sheet. Every coin is according to the orientations given by numista. From 1982 the coin orientation on some coins started.
If anybody is interested in my data just send me a PM with your mail address and I'll send you the file.

Ole. This post is about the Sigg play coins in aluminium 😉

Thank you for this extensive answer! It helps a lot! I updated the list in the top post, I added the numbers you listed. I'll make some modification requests to add date lines that are not listed right now.

Your 5 rappen coin allignment variety is specifically mentioned now on Numista. It would be great when you would enter a picture showing both sides simultaneously in the date line.
In fact, all the varieties listed in this survey are listed on Numista now. As for the 1947 1 Franc it would be nice indeed when the existence of also coin allignment example(s) would be reported here, regarding BramBV's message on this.
