Bearded Jefferson nickel

9 сообщений
Imagine my surprise when I took a look at my 1964 Jefferson nickel to find that he had a beard!
Now, when I say a beard I really mean whiskers. The first thing I thought of 'hobo nickel' but looks like those were Indian cents.
Anyway, the whiskering is on the tip of the chin around and down to the neck~ there are a few whiskers on the front of the shirt at the end of that chin line.

I see subtle ridges on the bridge of his nose up to his forehead.
My iphone can't pick up the detail I can see with my magnifying glass ~ Google doesn't bring up much ~
If anyone has heard of this, please point me in the right direction. I will somehow get a picture on here ~ Jefferson looks good with some stubble  :-)

Those are great examples, thank you for sharing! The waiting to be kissed is pretty amazing, I like the Jefferson human skull myself  ;-)

I will get a picture on here ASAP ~

I have took some coins pics using my mobile, thru the magnifying glass, and they are better than not using the glass. The lens of the mobile on center of the glass, then search up and down till having a good definition.

Other feature I use is to scan the coins, most times they look good too.

Try it, could work for you too.

Just 10 options: you understand binary, or you don't.

Daniel,

Thank you ~ I have a scanner on my printer!

The best scan I could get is 600 dpi
I added mark-up / arrows

As I continued to look at the coin I noticed that the 'whiskering' happens on the same side of the date too. I am going to take this into an office max and get a better scan  ;-)
