I need help from someone with expertise in Nepal coins to help me identify this coin. It is pictured below. It is 25.6 mm round and weighs 5.24 grams. It is silver and the edge is smooth. It is dated SE1804 or 1882AD.
It has to be either a KM#650 or a KM#651. I can see very little difference in appearance of these two coins and their weights and diameters are essentially the same. The KM#650 appears to have finer characters. The only other difference I see is there is a slightly longer arced line above the moon at 11:00 on the obverse of the KM#650.
According to the literature the KM#650 is “hand struck“ and the KM#651 is “machine struck.” There is no mention of the edge of the KM#650 in Numista, but Krause says it is milled. The KM#651 has a plain edge according to Krause but Numista says it could be smooth or milled.
Comparing the appearance of my coin with the photos of the KM#650 and the KM#651 in the Numista catalog, I feel my coin more closely resembles the KM#650 because of the finer lettering and the longer arc over the moon at 11:00. However, my coin does have a smooth edge— although it is possible the milled characteristic may have been worn away.
KM#650: N#137768
KM#651: N#33988
