Hello. I have these 2 double Lorrain from France - Stenay. But its interesting one doesn't have the circle around the bust. Is this a known variant? Thanks!

So many varieties
Try the french forum, they are better sharpened for this type of question 😜
Hi,
the reference book for these coins is CGKL.
It contains 14 types of Double Tournois from Stenay, or Double Lorrain. They are defined by the bust of Louis XIII.
9 are in Numista's catalogue. (NB: only 8 are found on english side, who knows why…)
According to CGKL, only types 8 and 12 are known without (and also with) circle around the bust (+ types 13 and 14 always without circle, but Louis XIII is facing left).
So with date 1636 your second Double Lorrain can only be type 8. Also, the legend ending with “NAVAR” is only known on type 8 for this year. If it was to be an unknown variant of another type (types 8, 9 and 11 for 1636), it wouldn't be possible to know because the bust is worn out…
The first one might be a type 8 or type 12, by the shape of the bust, but not sure because of condition…
Thanks for more info. It seems these Stenay are quite rare

The 4th type gets the lettering : + DOVBLE.LORAIN, so can't be found by the search “Double Lorrain” so I made the request to change the title by :
"Double Tournois Lorrain - Louis XIII Stenay mint; 4th type"
