I have what I think is an Indian coin from the Mugals or the Martha confederacy. Would like to know more. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to Numista!
My first guess with that elephant and the date above it would be Tipu Sultan, Mysore.
Please review the identification request guidelines and for the best ID results provide diameter to the nearest mm, weight to the nearest tenth of a gram, and cropped photos.
It weighs 5 grams but I don't have a caliper to find the dimensions.

Since it's a hammered coin, the diameter varies from coin to coin. Use a ruler and you'll get within a millimeter (or a 16th of an inch) and that's good enough.
It's about 18 mm. Or slightly smaller than a us penny.
@Seeker55 is correct. It is a paisa from Mysore that was issued by Tipu Sultan.
Thank you for the confirmation, @Quant-Geek.
Having the approximate weight and diameter allowed searching the Zeno database, where I didn't find a match, but looking through Krause found it, a Mysore half paisa of Tipu Sultan, Patan mint, dated AM 1222 (AD 1793), KM#122.4.
Sweat! thanks for the help on this one. One more question though. Any idea on a value for it? would be great to know. Because based on what I'm seeing, its one of those “whatever someone will pay for it” types.
For the most accurate pricing info you can search EBay for recent completed sales of similar coins. Certainly an interesting coin to have in a collection, in general coins of Tipu Sultan aren't especially rare, and the condition is somewhat worn. I would guess $5-10, but it might be a bit higher.
Here are some completed EBay sales of Tipu Sultan half paisas.
Thanks again. I was afraid of that. The guy I'm researching this for paid way to much for it. It is what it is I guess. Still a cool coin though.
