Our Finnish catalogues have these two variations which could be added to Numista too. I have these coins and took some photos but I'm not as good as Sjoelund for example is to make these presentations. First one is year 1865. Regarding the bow tie some coins have no balls at the end and some have large balls. In SNY catalogue large balls is 493.1.1.
Magnification:
Year 1906 has two different side text variations. The side text contains "⅔". The diagonal line in normal case is short but some coins have long diagonal line. In SNY catalogue long diagonal line is 500.1.1.
I don’t want to look picky, but most likely, the obverse picture here is taken from later mint years. Lettering in Y1865 coins is larger, cf. coin page, comments. In fact, some time ago I sent a request to create a separate page for this coin as it was done for 50 penniä and 1 markka, but it was rejected.
Coins are something that unites us with thousands of people across space and time
Unfortunately, I did not save the page draft that I created for the Y1865(66) coin, but I still have my correspondence with the referee about this matter. It includes the following pictures:
If needed, I can send (via PM?) the whole correspondence.

Maybe the 1872 is only for borders (deciding the sub type), but the 1870 is for the size of the lettering. It would be interesting to know, if the 1870 was struck with two different sizes of lettering (and maybe also borders)? I haven't any of those 2 markkaa coins in my collection, so I cannot really verify anything!
Yes, you can send me the old correspondence by PM.
SCWC made a cut in 1872, which should have been in 1870! We're not allowed to change KM#, but we're allowed to show errors, so we'll have to invent a sneaky, correct way to show the reality in numista?
Have we missed anything? If not, I suggest, Olli makes a CR for his two findings and NumiSerge makes a CR for his finding. Please feel free to use the graphics on this page.
Thanks Ole. I have here gathered some major changes regarding 2 markkaa coins.
The coins of the years 1865-66 are characterized by large patterns, while the 1870 mintage already has clearly smaller letters and numbers. The 1872 type, on the other hand, has a denser beaded border and a particularly large wreath knot. In 1874, the latest model was introduced, in which, along with the wreath, the heart coat of arms has undergone a thorough change. The lion has shrunk a bit, got a two-pronged tail and moved one of its hind paws to the blade of the saber. The number of heraldic roses has increased from three to eight. In addition, the crown with a small double eagle above the coat of arms has been replaced by a lower crown, which no longer has the eagle pattern.
Some photos too:
So I have here 1865 rev+obv, 1870 rev+obv, 1872 rev and 1908 obv.
