Good morning All

I recently got hold of this gold coin

- About 20mm

- 4,40g

- Gold content about 0.900

It looks similar to the coins in this link

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=ostrogothic_kigdom&r=&ct=coin&im1=&im2=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tt=y&tp=y&cat=y&ru=&ca=3&no=&v=&i=victori&b=&ie=&u=&a=&dg=&m=6&f=&t=&w=&mt=&g=&se=&d=&c=&wi=&sw=

However, the Cross on the reverse consists of only a single line of dots, as one of the diferences.

Any sugestions?

Thanks

Philip

Think it could possible be this Byzantine coin

N#297576

Any thoughts

No.

The obverse legend is retrograde, and I think reads D N IVSTINVS PF AVG.

Not sure what this makes it (Justin I?), but not Anastasius.

Also, the spear behind the figure runs in the opposite direction to normal.

Together these features make the coin a bit suspicious, but maybe such a type (with the obverse a sort of mirror image of the normal features of a Justin I type) is known.
