I think this coin is from Hesse-Darmstadt, but I can’t find the same design ( no mint mark, with crown) in acsearch.info and ma-shop.

And I don’t know the weight and the diameter yet.

Krause has it under Sayn-Wittgenstein-Wittgenstein KM# 122.

Not mentionned in the SCWC under Hessen.

The H-D coins of that era mostly have HD or HESS DAR (or more explicit text for larger denomination coins).

“varieties exist”

The presence or absence of a crown should really be a  different type instead of a “varieties exist” note, but unfortunately I've seen bigger changes go undifferentiated in the Krause German State coin listings. Many of the entries appear to have been created from text listings in previous books and with no coins in hand and no pictures.

Big time Hessen Darmstadt lover here, The reverse looks extremely like some of those however I would say it is most likely not HD due to the obverse. Normally they do have a similar obverse but it is lacking the very common HD at the top.

Are the coin photo you sent and the photo in this link actually the same photo?  > > > N#415326

If it is the same coin, I think it should be KM#122 as written above.
