Hello Experts,

I have a coin that is pretty close to Arcot coins. It looks close to A1, B1 in here: https://www.numismaster.com/?advancedsearch=true&id=-10012282&searchid=46&pageno=1&filter=

But! It is not the same. Please help identify this.  The “S” motif is very clear

Here are the weights and dimensions: I see:

Weight: 6 gms
Dimensions:  Approx 18 mm x 18 mm

Looks somewhat similar to this Arcot half paisa in Zeno, accounting for different striking positions on the flan and orientations of photos.

I didn't see a match in Krause under the Arcot listings either.

Oh! Wow. Thanks. For future reference, how did you find this? What are the websites you check?

Also. I am a bit shocked I have a coin that has no KM number. Isn’t that very uncommon?

This seems close. Actually.

Should I create a new Numista listing for this or just attach it to the existing one?

We don't know yet. Allow people time to research and feedback from other members.

I don't think so.

The search page of the quite comprehensive Zeno database (of Oriental coins, broadly defined) is available at

http://search.zeno.ru

Entering the metal, name of a kingdom or ruler or a keyword, and weight range plus dimension range brings up a list of candidates that can then be checked visually.

its not very uncommon for ancient coins and russian empire coins in my experience. chinese cash coins also typically dont have KM's
