Confused,  no date I see but they seem to be silver

Here is something very similar to the John XXIII one. There are many, many pope medals.

 

Yours could be silver as you say, or (more likely) silver plated — or maybe acmonital (a sort of stainless steel) though this doesn't have the same white shine of silver.

no date, and more importantly, no denomination, means it is not a coin, but rather  exonomia
