It is nice to know that there are lots of job lots out there. But, I am not sure we should be advising you for every lot you come across! You need to decide what you are buying. I don't know what kind of money you have got and unless we know what you are collecting etc. Sorry to be a bit unfair but that's just my opinion.

That's cool, as I'm new to collecting only 6 months. Just want opinion of more experienced peeps so I don't get ripped off. I'm into British coins and old world silver coins; not bothering with Chinese as too many fakes. Sorry for the pestering. jay
Thanks for understanding. I didn't want to come across as rude! What you want to do is get down your local boot fair or market or find a coin dealer and start there: it is more cost efficient. There is more than eBaY out there.
It was the 1818 I was talking about ! Ha I have been collecting less than a year and am yet to buy a bulk lot ! They don't usually represent value for money because with the Internet people are much more savvy than in the dark ages (early 90's.. Yes think about it it wasn't just 10 year ago like you think ha)
Don't rush straight into it there are a lot of deals to be had buying single coins and lots of 3/4 if you wait ! I like to think I've done well on a shoe string budget considering I have only just started working again !

Hi - I was thinking about doing that; at least that way you get to examine the coin properly, just got to build my knowledge on coins.

Hi I have brought two coins on their own - a 1952 six pence and 1853 penny, other than that just joblot coins and most I've spent on joblot is 125.00 which started my collection off. A lot of same coins with same dates and no silver coins, which I was disapointed with. I agree you have to watch out on eBay but sometimes you get a good deal. As I've got all the nickel coins nearly done in the ones I'm collecting at the moment, I'm going to start getting the silver ones on their own and hopefully my budget lets me get the older silver ones in a good grade.
Just remember to check other items for sale and their feedback for coins that have been filtered out from the collection, as most joblots have been through more than one seller.
