German 1 Euro Cent Identification

I recently got a German 1 Euro cent coin that looks like it’s entirely golden, but it’s not as it is magnetic. It also isn’t brass plated as it also shines. 
Minted in 2002 with an F mint mark

It's either a school or chemistry experiment and was, like you said, plated in brass. Or rather it's a Lucky Penny and gilded (looks quite shiny from the pictures). But it should be magnetic, it should have a steel core after all.
