8 Reales from mexican republic 1840

I am wondering if anyone could help me estimate a value for this coin. It is one of my favorite coins because of the beautiful craftsmanship. I am also interested in any history about this coin or the mint or designer. Can anyone tell me more about the coin?

The mint is on the coin: Go Casa de Moneda de Guanajuato, Mexico (1810-1905)

I don't have a good enough balance at home to get the weight to the nearest 0.1 gram. So I will weigh them at work and take a picture with the weight later today.

Yes, very beautiful design.  Go 1840 PJ  -Go (mint) - 1840 - PJ  (assayer). Average circulated, fairly common, and readily available. F-VF.  Measure diameter of the coin more towards the tips of the caliper for a more accurate reading. If it weights right, most likely genuine.
