eBay prices tbh

I'm new to numismatists, well regarding vintage coinage anyway

For example I'm seen prices like this

https://www.ebay.ie/itm/294174193899?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=5282-166454-587998-0&mkcid=2&itemid=294174193899&targetid=2308550382942&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9192439&poi=&campaignid=20320759638&mkgroupid=152362499922&rlsatarget=pla-2308550382942&abcId=&merchantid=697777656&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw-JG5BhBZEiwAt7JR63swpTdePZauvI1GPj9B4qloki-79GZF9iZGzqHg6gYa0O21UtYUzhoCadwQAvD_BwE

Then ones for maybe half that, so understandably has me a bit confused

The problem is that anyone can ask what they want on eBay. What you should look at is the prices that were paid. I can tell you that no-one in their right mind would pay anthing like that for this coin. The UNC value for 1949F on N#1955 is € 4,60 and even that is something I would never pay for a coin that has a mintage of 45.118.000.

They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...

don't believe sellers on ebay.

It is a simple coin, not rare, poor condition.

Found it at once in my collection.

My coin should be better condition and it is face value.

I agree. What happens on eBay is a some form of scamming. You can’t say it’s rare with these mintage numbers.
