I dont see how showing different degrees of tarnish for the same coin type is helpful or necessary. It is not technically a variety after all and they are all made of the same material, brass . If we were to start allowing this we would have endless numbers of photographs in the comment section for every coin on every coin page. As long as we can provide the best example of a typical coin for that particular coin page, that should suffice as a representative example.

Not sure I agree with the content in the comment section for the 1973 coin as well. The notation about the “round 3 or flat 3” should be noted. Where it simply claims as a matter of fact that “due to some minor alloy variations in ….” etc. There are often very minor variations in alloy content in many base metal planchet production that can produce slight variations in toning over the years. Many other things can affect toning and appearance, why only point it out in the comments for the 1973? You are showing a 1972. I feel the entire comment is redundant and should be removed.
