I am new ly registered here.

I found I have a double strike 1 pfennig coin on the side with the “1”

I don't collect these coins, but I have some foreign currency

What is the value of this type of coin

Photos would help confirm the error, thanks

Well I like errors, and if I saw that one I would buy it. However I wouldn’t pay much more than I would for any other Rentenpfennig, because unlike the USA over here in Europe we don’t go dolally over the slightest variation on small denomination coins, why? Because we have such a varied availability of coins and not just a few coins over the last century 😂 for the normal coin without the doubling;

If it is a 1923 E €1

If it is a 1923 F €5-10

With the error €10-20 maybe, F possibly more. Or set yourself a price and see who will buy it, you can certainly say „very rare“ as I have 100s of these little buggers, 1s, 2s, Renten & Reichs and I’ve never seen one like this.

„If your reply or post in the Forum stinks of AI, I will call you out! Knowledge comes from experience, the I in AI stands for incompetence.“

That's not a double struck coin..

It's called a ‘doubled die", during the proces of making the die something went "wrong"..

So the die ended with the doubling.. So there a some more out there with exact the same doubling..

It's a nice one..  certainly a keeper.. 👍

Worldcoin collector by date & variety.. (Always on the search for Doubled dies)

The doubling seems to be far enough to constitute a ddo (Doubled Does Obverse) cool find

King thanks for the information.  How does one tell the mint?  I see no markings.
