Interesting Greek coin with Club

4 сообщений • просмотрено 62 раз

Just recently got this ancient Greek coin in very nice condition. The obverse has the profile of a Nymph (?) facing right, and the reverse has a club in the center with two Greek words (Epsilon, A, P, Delta) and (A, N, Omega, N) and would like a translation if one knows it. Weight: ~4.16g, size: ~13-14mm. I have not found this on Numista but would like to know if others have seen this type coin before?

Like this one?

Yeah, so that's why I couldn't find it, the stats were a tad too far off, probably because the coin is rather thick, so therefore heavier and slightly smaller diameter than the one already on here… At least I got most of the letters right, but couldn't find the applicable Greek to English translator I needed online to help with this coin.

That's not out of the norm with ancients. I've had some I couldn't find cause I didn't make the size or weight range wide enough until someone else had clarified for me. I recognized yours right away cause I bought the same one on ebay 6 months ago.
