# 22 an easy one I think

I thought it was a dime but it's:

N#56

Referee of south atlantic islands

Correct.  I was hoping you thought it was a dime.

Less easy :

Bravo !

You were fast to find this coin (posted in memory of a former club 😜)

Ya this coin is circulated

I want to guess but this coin is in such bad condition that I can’t

Did you know that Pluto is still a planet in Illinois and New Mexico and has de facto recognition as a planet in Arizona?

It might looks like a foot ?

Referee of south atlantic islands

I may give a hint on March 16, Manila Time.

I tried my best to make it as clear as possible. I used an in-built macro lenses on my Samsung A31 phone.

No i meant it is a what if example to clarify the rules. How do you expect to guess from an image with nothing?

GabrielPlayz_Numista

I tried to make it lighter and more in focus:

but I have absolutely no idea.

I mean, given the hint, I'd guess it's either a Philippine coin and/or something to do with Magellan.

Apparently Magellan “discovered” the Philippines on March 16th 1521.

But I can't find any coin in Numista either in the Philippines or with “Magellan” in the search which even comes close to any sort of resemblance. So might be on the complete wrong trail there. 🙃

Got me foxed for sure.

GabrielPlayz_Numista

I may give a hint on March 16, Manila Time.

Apparently March 16 is celebrated as  Romblon (Province) Foundation day in the Philippines as well. But I cannot figure out the coin. I initially thought maybe it will be one of the commemoratives for the Leyte landing or something like that, but the picture is not clear enough for a side by side comparison

there are Portuguese coins related to Ferdinan Magellan, but apart from the 2€ CC, there are only collector coins

Don't forget this Niue “coin”

Don't take this the wrong way but the image from a Lincoln Cent Obverse you posted would have been easier.

I think I see a foot/shoe/boot maybe:

Edit: Just noticed Frenchlover saw the same thing a couple of days ago.

The coin is not from the Philippines nor is a foot 🙃

rsirian1

I think I see a foot/shoe/boot maybe

I think it's more like an arm. Someone is stsnding with open arms?

Kinda looks like a mountain range to me

Could be anything, really. I don't even know what I'm looking at anymore, but I can't wait to see the answer.

I declare a stalemate. Can we just get the answer and move on?

Yeah, I think we are all stumped

Did you know that Pluto is still a planet in Illinois and New Mexico and has de facto recognition as a planet in Arizona?

Yeah, agree.

HINT: it is in Frenchlover's collection.

Personally, I would like to see a new coin posted rather than more hints. Can there be a time limit on each coin?

ashlobo

I reckon 3 days.

Why?

1) It's fun when it's not no immediately found, and we also have to respect the different time zones.

2) Day 2 a hint can be given, and everyone from UK to NZ must have a change to recieve the hint and guess.

3) If no one has found it, or even has a clue, at the end of Day 3, the answer shall be revealed.

The question is if the same person get's a new chance. If not, how will the next person be chosen?

+1 Not about to look through 8,000 + coins to probably still miss it because nobody knows what object is in the picture.

The next after the answer is given should revert to the previous winner. @Frenchlover

Wohoo! 🥳

I'll need a few hours to post since I'm at work right now.

Okay, here go! 😁

Please know I did the best I could. 😇

Is that a hand?

Did you know that Pluto is still a planet in Illinois and New Mexico and has de facto recognition as a planet in Arizona?

Pluto2181930

Is that a hand?

Hahaha!! Wilson, is that you? 😅

Og, I probably shouldn't say too much. 🫢 But hoestly, I don't know, but I love it. 😆

If it was too difficult I could do a different part of the same coin. 😇

ngdawa

Maybe just a hint first.

May be a crowned portrait.

Referee of south atlantic islands

Seems like a mint mark ?

ashlobo

Seems like a mint mark ?

Nope, it's not a mint mark. It's actually a part of the main design.

Ok, I am suprised this was so hard. I thought it would be easy. 😅

Okay, so here's three hints:

1) It is in my collection (not in swap list, but collection).

2) The coin page's picture is by Frenchlover.

3) The diameter is 20 mm.

I don't know if this makes it too easy, or if it doesn't help at all. Maybe we should allow questions after a certain amount of time? 🤔

I thought I knew it 😝

Referee of south atlantic islands

I do know it.

N#4497

Here is the Kazakh National Bank's explanation for this image as it first appears on the 1993 3 tenge coin:

"Wolf" (bori) is ancient totem personage to whom Saks (better known as the Scythians) bowed. The representation was taken from Altai memorials of VI century BCE. Wolf was respected by all Turkic peoples as a symbol of bravery and nobility of our ancestry.

No mention of any crown.

Referee of south atlantic islands

I still think it looks like a hand. Good one.   Anyway…on to the next.

I wouldn't do that to you. It's a standard circulation coin.

They are a sea apart.

Bulgaria perhaps? The kingdom coins have the lion with an upward tongue in the coat of arms, but there are several varieties and hard to match if at all

Yes. I'll accept that. Some have a crown, some don't. Here's another less magnified view:

The actual coin is this one:  N#3762

Your turn!  😃

The hunt definitely helped narrow it down!

It could possibly be the part of the coat of arms of a monarch country.

I feel like I’ve seen this on a Spanish 5 peseta . Need to look on the catalogue for the coin

edit. Sadly no.. I was thinking this coin because of the brick work. But its not a match
