I have this coin

diameter:25,5 cm
weight:8,5 g
smooth edge
looks like a goldened copy of a kreutzer but I can't tell exactly

What could be the value?
Hi!

As it is a modern restrike, the value is just the melt price.

That is not necessarily true as some restrikes are more valuable than the original

I don't think this is true in this case...  :°

True but then I didn't say it was!!!!!!!!
Almost the only time are reprint is more valuable then the original is when:

A. The original is fairly common and both are bullion but the original is worn down so much that the reprint has a higher bullion value.

B. The reprint or reprinter is incredibly well know and liked

This is also true, but you will find that a great deal of restrikes are still very valuable and not just gold, take for instance the P/L restrike of British India coins (copper) many are valued around the $600 mark.

Kreuzer was different in design. This is a copy of a 6 Kreuzer.

And the original is by far more valuable in this case. I would agree that the copy costs not more than melt.
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 7000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.
I think it depend if it is an official restrike or not.

Hello - I had visited the coin museum of Hall which is a historically important coin minting place for Austria. I was there last winter and if I am not mistaken this could be purchased from the shop. There were different varieties to buy with different metals such as aluminium, copper, and silver. Here is their website unfortunatelly they don´t show what they sell at their shop
