Should I crack out of SEGS slab? 1878-S Morgan MS65+ PL

I have had this coin in my collection for many years. Is it worth sending for CAC certification, or should I just open it and send it as a raw coin? I've always heard that third-party graders tend to grade a couple of points too high, but this coin does have a proof-like (PL) finish. Unfortunately, the photos do not capture the PL mirror in the fields, and it is a VAM 116.
