Does anyone recognize this late Roman AE15 reverse? [решено]

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me put this to bed. This 15mm bronze is not in great shape and the edge chipping is compromising the legibility of the legends, but I think the reverse central design is unusual enough to nail down the attribution. Does anyone recognize it?

Hi, it's Claudius II

Reverse: requies optimor meritorum

Well done, tatinos2! I tried yesterday but assumed the figure on the reverse was marching (while it's actually sitting) so my chances were greatly reduced of finding it.

So it's a coin of one of Claudius' successor after he was deified. The catalogue is rather inconsistent about this fact.

Hi, yes that's right, it's a "posthumous" coin! It's like the coins with "divo" written on them! You could say it's a commemorative coin in honor of a former emperor.

Better than me … I got hung up thinking it was a Maximian ‘Persecution’ issue….

i just did some looking around and it appears that it’s a rather rare issue (I’m seeing a whole bunch of R5’s!).

Shame it didn’t survive the centuries in better condition!

Thanks again!!
