few days ago I got a message from his wife that he passed away on 2nd July .
It very sad news for me and many members here ,he was very active on forum and always shared his views on almost all topics ,He was the one who agreed to swap with me first and thought me how to swap ,pack coins and many more things about coins ,we exchanged many Christmas gifts.Few years ago he punched his own token and sent to many members of Numista .
Very sad news indeed. He will be missed by the entire Numista community, the community he helped to build and maintained. I think I was the last to reply to one of his posts on the day he passed away. That also makes me sad.
We did not always see eye to eye, but I respected him and his input.
My dearest thoughts and prayers to his family.
He will be missed here!
R.I.P. Mimael.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

Wow very sad to hear Ivan has passed. I enjoyed reading his post and his love of life and his family. RIP
-Yes, he had a wonderfully playful sense of humour. I loved the way he started some of his posts. I know I will miss his colourful input (even if some of his notes/coins were cheap ‘dealer stock’ it was great to follow his posts & his particular passions or the numismatic discoveries in his community). Very sad news!
Very sad to hear. His posts were unique; it would be a little tricky at times deciphering though the auto translation, but his Posts always exuded a certain positivity at every turn.
A very sad news indeed — especially that his death was so untimely, at 61, and (so it seems) sudden, only two days after his last post here.
I just found out he was coining his own token. I'm not sure how many there are out there, but it's nice that he entered it for posterity in the Numista catalogue.
Indeed, very sad news. We could rely on his opinion in so many areas on the forum. Condolences to his family and personal friends, as his friends on Numista will surely miss his contribution.

I was just reading this and thinking about that conversation we were having. Now I'm also sad. I really wish I would have had an opportunity to have known him as well as some of you guys.

Rest in peace Ivan (MIMAEL) we will throughly miss your informative, interesting posts over the years.
May the Lord give him and has family peace.
You will be heavily missed by the Numista community. 😔
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
Oh, no! No wonder I haven't heard from him in a while. This is really terrible. I am so sorry! 😢😭
He was always full of stories, fun anecdotes and sharing everything he recently got in his mail, and all the joy he felt by recieving them. He was a real character who always lit up the forum with his thoughts. He will be truly missed. And 61 years old, that not an age to die at. It's way too soon. 😭
I see that szmata has already received his, and PetrusAscanus should as well. As I was trying to find the post announcing the sad news (which I couldn't though it should be some time in the summer of 2021) I found a post on the passing of another member: alema66.

Indeed a very good idea, this black ribbon. So, sooner or later, all of us will get one…?
Speaking of that, how it will work?
I mean, when a Numista colleague departs, how should we request the inclusion of the ribbon? Announcing the passing here on free discussion is enough? Or should we open a ticket on the website forum section?

Just some things that popped on my head.
If you know, just let me know in PM.
A PM is enough, then.
Thanks for letting me know.
Hopefully this won't be necessary for me or anyone I know for a very long time.
I think people are just expressing their appreciation for a post where the Numista community as a whole can add their thoughts about a dear member who has passed away.
It is also, maybe, a post that the family and personal friends would like to see, as it may give them a greater understanding of just how much MAMEAL contributed to this online community and how much his opinion and research helped other members to expand their knowledge and love for coins. Numismatics, in fact any hobby, can be a solitary and isolated existence. Opening even a small window on what can often be a separate life can be a comfort to those who have lost someone dear to them.
