Round hole question

I have a request to change a page's shape from "Round with a round hole" to “Round” with an additional comment of “Holed at top”. My opinion is that it is Round with a round hole, regardless of the location of the round hole. It was produced and distributed that way intentionally. So, the shape should stay the same. The member that has asked for the modification states that “The round with a round hole was meant to be used with coins from say China or France, namely with a decent size round hole right in the middle. A coin with a tiny hole at the top is not the same”

Here are some examples of the hole at the top which are currently listed as Round with a round hole. The first one is the one the CR was asked for.

N#409972

N#425506

These are some I think should be changed to “round” as the hole was not made when it was produced and distributed.

If I were searching for most of those I absolutely would not search shape = Round with a round hole.

This search should not produce no results.

It would not occur to me that I should then modify the filter to “any round.”

Same with this one

On the other hand this one where the hole was there when made is different. Round with a round hole makes sense.

As I stated, the 5 links I shared I think have the correct shape because they were produced with the hole for whatever reasons. Like this one.

Only the last 3 links I shared should be changed to just round. To me the majority of the pages I shared have the correct shape.

Yes, I was agreeing with you.

Oh, I was confused when you stated “If I were searching for most of those I absolutely would not search shape = Round with a round hole.  ”

I meant ones with the post mint drilled hole like the last one I posted.  Sorry I wasn't clear.

I agree, suspension holes or piercings should not be part of the shape

On some of the examples you present in the second set, the holes may well have been made during the production process, for suspension. Just because the suspenders may have become detached doesn't mean the holes were made later. In these cases, I think Round with a Round Hole applies.
