1944 uniface wheat penny

From the short nit of research I have done, it seem likely that this coin was altered after minted, but I dont know how to know for sure.

I inherinted this from my father and he had it for 30 plus years before I recieved it.

Check the weight. If one side has been ground down it should weigh noticeable less than the original coin.
