overpricing

I just thought I'd have a look to see if I could fill some of the gaps in my Franco to Juan Carlos I collection. I was trying to find a 50 peseta coin

from 1984 which has a mint run of 17,500 . Not rare? Boy was I in for a shock! Apparently they are scarce, BUT everybody and anybody is selling them for ridiculous prices. This includes EBAY, WALLAPOP, TODO COLLECTION. I will not pay the sort of money they are asking for. I'd sooner spend that sort of money on a nice SILVER coin. To me this is another example of someone hyping up the price and every body joining in. On this site you list high prices and I don't understand why. As I said they are up for sale everywhere, 100's of them .  If anyone reading this has a used  one, I'd gladly pay a fair price for it, or exchange for something else. HELP 

¿Estás hablando de N#1362 del año 1984? La puedes encontrar sin circular por 22€ como su página indica. Compré una, hace unos 20 años, por 25€ y fue barata, así que como ves no se ha revalorizado.

Actualmente más de 300 miembros de Numista la tienen registrada en sus colecciones. En cambio las de 1982 y 83 las tienen unos 3.000 de cada año. Como ves es unas 10 veces más rara que las de los otros años.

Sobre por qué es más rara, hay una teoría en el mundillo numismático; pero, como la FNMT y el Banco de España guardan toda la información como si fuera secreto de estado, no se puede saber con seguridad. La teoría es que la FNMT acuñó los 17 millones de monedas y se las dio al BdE. Éste se encontró con que había muchas monedas de 50 pesetas en circulación y que no eran populares (realmente son las peticiones de efectivo que hacen diariamente las tesorerías de los bancos al BdE) porque la gente prefería las de 100 y 25, más pequeñas y abundantes, por lo que no puso todas en circulación y destruyó el resto. La FNMT no volvió a recibir petición de acuñar moneda de 50 pesetas hasta seis años después, y lo hizo reduciendo el diámetro de 30 a 20 mm. N#4546

OK, fine,I get your point but  there are 100's for sale plus rolls ? ( hoarders? )  I have 100 peseta coins from 1966 star 70 for sale where only 995k were minted , but buyers want to pay the same price as star 66,67 and 68 where the mintages were respectively 15m, 15m and 25m ? and there are far less star 70's out there than star 66 especially?

En la página de las 100 pesetas de Franco N#1885 puedes ver los precios medios que han pagado los miembros que las han comprado. Los que tienen los años normales, unos 5.000 miembros, dicen haber pagado unos 30 € por la calidad SC, mientras que los 350 que tienen la del 70 pagaron 50 €. Las variantes del 69 es otra historia.

Estas 100 pesetas de plata sí que se han revalorizado. La del 70, que compré hace unos 20 años, me costó 18 €.

The price of silver has increased substantially over the years due to it's increased use in Medicine and Electronics. Like copper it resists nasty bugs. As a result and due to the loss of our beloved Queen Elizabeh II I am now collecting Canadian Silver Dollars. Some of them are really eye catching and will I'm sure appreciate in value.  However I am not impressed with the latest Canadian coins with coloured cartoon bimbos showing off their huge oversized assets with Charles III on the back. I'm not a prude , but who buys them?? Gross!
