Hello Everyone,
Only two variants are given in the numista catalog for France 1871 A 10 centimes. There are "1871 regular A" and "1871 small A" variants. However, in my research; I saw that there were 4 different variants for the 1871 A mint. All 4 different examples in the picture are from the 1871 A mint. The bee glyph moves a little further to the left each time from 1 to 4.
I showed it with a thin red line in the picture. I wanted to explain this issue under the title "Catalog Correction", but I wanted to get your thoughts here.

Aren't those marks hand stamped on the die so every die may not have the exact same location of the marks?  If so, they aren't considered varieties.

Greetings, Engin.  I own a recent copy of what's known as Le Rouge – in other words, this book:

In case it helps, on page 152 it states that there are 3 variants for the 1871A 10 Centimes coin:  Large A, Medium A, and Small A.

(There's no reference to a moving bee.)

TonyCoins  Thank you very much for your suggestion. It is very difficult for people around the world to access this catalog individually. In fact, many people are not even aware of such a catalogue.
The reason why I opened the topic here is that everyone, whether a member or not, can easily access this site, which we use as a reference.

It seems like; The confusion over 10 centimes also confused PCGS.
In the image I prepared, small A is in the 3rd variant. However; PCGS has certified both variants as "petite A".

Thanks for the reply, Engin.  Since this is a French coin, maybe someone over on the French Numista forums has more experience with this series.  Although there are a lot of nice pictures in the book I cited above, unfortunately there are no pictures which show the specific size differences between the A mint mark for this particular coin in the book.  I noticed that on the Numista catalog page someone used an older (2014) version of "Le Franc" for their information in the year lines for the 1871 A 10 centimes.  I wouldn't expect everyone to have a copy of Le Rouge.  I hear what you're saying.  I just wanted to share what information I do have for this coin in the hopes that it may help.
