Canada & Hong Kong both need King Edward VIII added to the list of monarchs.
Here is proof for Canada;
N#201706 .
Here is proof from Hong Kong;
N#557098 .

I feel like Premier William Aberhart would be much more suiting for that Albertan note. That note is more comparible to a notgeld, valid only within a singular province (for only a couple years). It had nothing to do with Edward VIII, and was issued by that primer (the head of the Government of Alberta at the time) as a result of the Great Depression.
That would also not be proof for the entirety of Canada as we are talking a banknote from one province (if it was proof--which I don't believe it is--it would specifically be for the Province of Alberta only).

The Hong Kong note… well, you're only going off the 1936 date being within Edward VIII's reign (end of January 1936 to the beginning of December 1936, so most of that whole year). But that is the only basis for assigning the two Georges as ruling authorities for this banknotes (the dates before and after 1936 being within their reigns), as they both otherwise do not appear on these notes. So that request might be valid for consistency.

The Albertan note is listed in a catalogue of Canadian Government Banknotes - & has never been listed in either the Pick or T.B.B. catalogues.
We do list Canadian chartered & pre-Dominion notes with monarchs' reigns being listed.
King Edward VIII should be indicated for this note as well.

This is not a pre-Dominion note, and from my understanding, it was not issued by a chartered bank.
This specific banknote is in a different situation than all others under Canada as this is the one note which could be considered as "Canadian notgeld" (well, this and the higher denomination made by the same government at the time, if I recall correctly on that). I don't think Edward VIII is relevant here because of that.
I'm sure you could find any other Canadian note from 1936 and make the argument that Edward VIII should be added to those (not that I would agree with that--there is simply an argument to be made); however, I see these notes as the one exception.
Here's a couple of examples of Canadian chartered notes from King Edward VIII's reign;
http://banknote.ws/COLLECTION/countries/AME/CAN/CANS0921.htm .
http://banknote.ws/COLLECTION/countries/AME/CAN/CANS0922.htm .
Notgeld notes -especially the German ones, are given a listing for the Empire prior to 9 November 1918 & the Weimar Republic for those afterwards.
King Edward VIII's reign should be listed for the Albertan one - given the fact that it was authorised by a government, in this case, of the Province.

Yeah, those ones work--I think they are much more comparible to the Hong Kong example as they do not depict the monarch, yet were indeed issued during Edward VIII's reign (and we are talking about a chartered bank here, which is an important distinction). With that being said, those notes appear to not yet be listed on Numista, so you might need to request one of those to be added first.
My main point about the Albertan banknote is that we have the government of a province doing its own thing for its own needs, irrespective of what the rest of Canada was doing at the time. The head of the Government of Alberta was Primier William Aberhart, who was also directly involved in issuing these notes. Seems wrong to me to list the ruler as a king, in this case, as he is essentially irrelevant to these pieces.
But it's also not my decision, in the end. For whoever ends up dealing with this thread, if they believe a valid case was made to add Edward VIII as a ruling authority to these countries:
And if that person find this at all relevant:
I'll leave it up to them now:)
Prime Ministers & Premiers are NOT ruling authorities!
King Edward VIII was the King of Canada - therefore, he MUST be included!
Aidan.
Those Canadian banknotes are now listed.
Please add in King Edward VIII's reign to the listing of Canada's monarchs.

Any chance of this request being dealt with soon?
