1963 Franklin half dollar question

Before I log these two coins I have a question -
I was under the understanding that there was only 1 type reverse coin minted that year; if I am mistaken can anyone help please?

From what I can find, the two types existed between '56 and '63.  Type 2 (3 feathers) is most commonly found on proofs, but can still be found on circulation coins.
