@Higuera thanks for the comprehensive info!
First, I realized that the base coin is 2 maravedis N#48766, not 1 maravedi as I mistakenely thought before.
Then, according to the article, I have two options to choose from:
1. countermarked in 1603 from 2 maravedis to 4 maravedis and then countermarked further in 1636 to 6 maravedis.
In this case, coin should contain countertamp from 1603
- ‘IIII with mintmark’
and two counterstamps from 1636
– ‘VI with mintmark'
– ‘1636 with crown’.
2. countermarked in 1641
In this case, I should see two counterstamps from 1641 year only:
- ‘VI with mintmark'
- ‘1641 with crown’.
Theoretically, it could be the third option if the coin was countermarked in 1603 from 2 maravedis to 4 maravedis and then countermarked in 1641 to 6 maravedis, with the following markes then:
- ‘IIII with mintmark’
- ‘VI with mintmark'
- ‘1641 with crown’.
The problem is that I can see counterstamped years on both sides of the coins and both are incomplete or barely readable.
And I don't clearly see `IIII with mintmark`.
I lean to the first option N#117839 , but not sure.
Sincerely,
Alexey
