Looks a bit too low grade to be real.
How can something look "too low grade to be real"

haha  :P

if you think it's fake I'd be happy to take it off your hands.  ;)

but honestly I have no idea, although I see no reason for it to be fake...

I agree - I see coins worse than this daily.

I would say that's real, it looks like a proper worn South African silver coin
DO not pay the full scrap value for that ! It's work and probably worth about £5 since wear = less weight. I picked up a good one of these for scrap value. :)
Yeah, c'mon Daniel. How does it look fake to you?

Fine. I will score my great bargain tomorrow morning.
Nice !
I won it for $4!!!!
Not bad ! Definitely a
Worth it !
I got a 1923 one in similar condition for just under melt value.  But for some reason the higher value 1800s coins (2 shillings, 2 1/2 shillings) go for around the same as the 1800s 3d and sixpences over here.
Neil that sounds good - I mean the 1800's stuff is useless to me, but the GV stuff always sells more than the newers here. :(
It's good if you're filling your collection with the higher value stuff.  I got a high grade 1896 2 shillings for $15 and a high grade 1896 2 1/2 shillings for $20, but if you're trying to pick up the 3ds and 6ds and people are still asking $20 for them, it's pretty frustrating.
Yeah, Rhodesia is expensive for 3 and 6 in silver but it's extortionate for all others ha !
