Lysimachos AR Tetradrachm–Amphipolis? ME/MF discussion–less documented die combo

Hello everyone,

I am trying to better classify a Lysimachos AR tetradrachm:

  • Silver
  • 17.3 g
  • 31 mm
  • discussed on Forum Ancient Coins
  • possible Amphipolis attribution
  • exergue mark discussed as ME (initially read by me as MF)

I fully agree it belongs within the Lysimachos / Thompson series. My question is more specific:

Could this specimen represent a less documented die combination?

I noticed several differences compared with the closest published examples:

  • portrait style (nose, lips, jawline)
  • hand position
  • throne–shield relationship
  • Nike wing details
  • outer symbol placement

I am not suggesting a different type — I am simply trying to understand where this specimen fits within the series and whether identical examples are known.

Any thoughts on rarity, die pairing, or comparable auction examples would be greatly appreciated.
