Where would you obtain these? I don't think they would be lying around in normal coin markets.

You can probably pick these up online if you're in Thailand. Do you have a local version of ebay? I'm in NZ and was able to buy some off of Trademe (NZ ebay clone).

Please help, I'm missing any photos associated with this post. Lmpetersen appears to know which coins you are inquiring about, yet there are no links to a Numista entry. What I'm I missing? Certain common North Korean issues are always available on eBay.

Even I have been looking for the set. was not available in Bangkok or London. Will try in Hong Kong during my next visit.

Yes I am also looking for these, please let me know if you find a way of getting them 😅

I am also looking for this and the “bus” series. It is not on Numista yet.

To your question:

In general, the easiest way to buy NK coins is to buy from Chinese dealers. But so far I haven't been able to find these two series neither on eBay, nor Taobao.

Okay, thanks a lot!

I was just wondering where you could buy them. But, isn't it illegal to take money out of Korea(Communist side)? I did find that you could be permitted to take the older sets out.

I am told that 2022 set in longer issued hence could be counted as older set.

The chinese citizens have rather liberal exit from North Korea.

These days (since COVID), it is said that North Korea has tightened its regulations so much that secretly crossing the China–North Korea border has become very difficult. In the past, many residents reportedly bribed border soldiers and traveled back and forth to China to buy and sell goods, and it was common enough for some people to make a living from it. However, now it is said that if people are caught, it is very difficult for them to avoid execution by shooting. (This is based on what I became aware of / understood last year, so the situation may be different now.)

I was not referring to those who secretly cross that border. There is a significant number of official and private travellers from either side.

That was answer to question above.
Since more North Korean workers officially cross the border than people might expect, I agree with your opinion.

Okay, thank you all for the info. It helped clear a lot of confusion.

Thank you very much for your time!

Here is some commemoratives although I doubt any North Koreans see these. I believe they are for tourists only kind of thing

I've been trying to search such set even I asked coin sellers nor North Korean item dealers which located near the NK border in China. They don't even know the set existed. So I don't expect there will be any available.

Yes, I have been asking some Russians to see if maybe some had been sold through a market there, but they've not heard of any either.

Thanks a lot. It's nice to know stuff like this.
